Open days at University of Strasbourg
On the 1st of March, the ICube laboratory and Institut Photonique took part in the open days organised by University of Strasbourg with a booth at the Télécom Physique Strasbourg (TPS) school of engineering in order to promote academic programmes in the field of photonics. Attendees had the opportunity to discover the specialisation courses provided by TPS such as “Physics” which offers an option in photonics.
Mr. Mustapha Remouche, business and scientific mediation manager at ICube, presented a stand to promote photonic and light sciences, explaining photonics and its range of applications through interactive experiments.
Four main themes of the science of light were touched on, along with experiments and explanatory mediums:
- Light and energy – Solar energy
- Light and digital technology – Screens and polarisation of light
- Light and vision – Additive and substractive colour synthesis
- Light and communication – Transmission by optical fibers
