The French Physical Society (SFP) congress, this week-long and unique event which takes place every two years will be held at the University of Technology of Troyes for its 27th edition. The members of the Institut Photonique will be present on that occasion. They will be running a booth and organising colloquiums (full programme here) simultaneously with plenary conferences.
Outstanding guests are expected at the event: Anne L’Huillier, winner of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics and Mounci Bawendi, winner of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
The French Physical Society (SFP) General Congress offers an up-to-date multidisciplinary overview on the latest advances in physics, all fields included. This event is also an opportunity to address current societal challenges that physicists encounter (international background, arrival of AI, teaching physics, open science…) On average, the General Congress attracts 650 participants in a week, one third of whom are doctoral students and postdoctoral students.
June 29th, 2025: participate in the Effervesciences day, the Congress’ pre-event, where the public and researchers will meet
From June 30th to July 4th, 2025 : French Physical Society General Congress at the University of Technology of Troyes
This year as well, the congress will start with a special event which will take place during the afternoon of Sunday the 29th of June, in the city centre of Troyes.
During this event, the Scientific Culture commission invites you to share your research and knowledge with the general public and make other participants at the congress discover your initiatives in scientific popularisation. This will be a unique opportunity to interact with many people deeply involved in scientific mediation (Scientibus, Maison de la Science,…). This will also be the perfect occasion to discover, be introduced to or to improve in scientific popularisation or to simply exchange on your popularisation and mediation experiences.
The Congress will also welcome the Physics Teaching and Didactics Meetings (REDP).
