Six members of the Institut Photonique have been named amongst the 2% best researchers worldwide

The American university Stanford University and the company Elsevier published their “World’s Top 2% Scientists” ranking

Six researchers from the Institut Photonique amongst the most influential scientists in the world

This ranking, considered to be the most prestigious one, is based on bibliometric information contained by the database Scopus and includes over 160,000 researchers amongst over 8 million scientists considered to be active worldwide, taking into account 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields.

Five members of Institut Photonique appear in the 2024 ranking of the top 2% most effective researchers in the field of physics, with “optics” as a sub-field:

  • Marc SCIAMANNA, professor at CentraleSupélec, holder of the Chair in Photonics in Metz, professor and researcher at CentraleSupélec within the LMOPS laboratory, deputy director of the LMOPS laboratory and recently designated director of Institut Photonique in the Grand Est region and Luxembourg
  • Christophe COUTEAU, researcher and professor at the University of Technology of Troyes, director of the L2n laboratory
  • Daniele BRIDA, professor in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Luxembourg
  • Henri VAHABI, professor and researcher at the Université de Lorraine within the LMOPS laboratory
  • Shuwen ZENG, professor and researcher at the University of Technology of Troyes, researcher at the CNRS

 

As well as one member in the “optoelectronics and photonics” sub-field:

  • Alexandre VIAL, professor and researcher and training manager at the University of Technology of Troyes
