Science passionates and curious people were invited to the Lalique museum to participate in meetings, workshops, demos, exhibitions, or even challenges on the theme “Let’s shine a light on glass”. During 2 days, researchers from CNRS and University of Strasbourg explained and presented the light effects and the interactions between light and matter on the collections of glass and crystal of the museum.

As part of the workshops and demos that wowed the audience, “The Lamp machine” consisted in assembling one’s own light thanks to a laser cutter, and discovering the foundations of electronics in a fun and creative way. “A holograms galore” was a hologram exhibition from Paul Montgomery’s private collection (Director of research emeritus in the IPP (Instrumentation and Photonic Processes) and TRIO (Teledetection, Radiometry and Optical Imaging) teams of the ICube lab. With “Immersion into a the fascinating world of light”, Mustapaha Remouche showed how light can be used in energy, communication, digital applications and vision.
